Are you the proud owner of a beautiful cashmere shawl or scarf? and you are confused about whether your cashmere can be washed and ironed at home? If so, you may be wondering how best to care for this delicate fabric. Here’s what you need to know about laundering cashmere, so you can keep your garments looking and feeling amazing for years to come.

To start, you should know that cashmere is made from the soft, downy undercoat of cashmere goats. This undercoat is very fine, making cashmere garments extremely soft and luxurious. However, the fine fibers also mean that cashmere is delicate and can be easily damaged.

That’s why it’s important to take extra care when laundry cashmere. You should always hand wash or dry clean cashmere, rather than machine washing it. And, when you do wash cashmere, use a mild detergent and cool water. Be sure to avoid hot water, which can damage the fibers.

If you’re hand washing cashmere, be sure to do so gently. Use your hands to lightly agitate the fabric in the water, rather than rubbing it. And, when you’re done washing, squeeze the excess water out of the fabric gently. Never wring or twist cashmere, as this can also damage it.

We do not recommend machine washing your cashmere as it can damage it permanently. Below are the simple steps which should be followed while washing your shawl or scarf at home
